自動車環境分科会: 自動車排出ガス単体規制による排出ガスの低減及び排出総量の削減効果を定量的に把握するため、これまで自動車排出ガス原単位及び総量の算定手法が構築されてきた。しかし、従来のシャシダイナモメータ試験を基にした平均車速モデルによる原単位の設定は、測定データ数が限られること、様々な走行状態を反映できないことから、その精度には一定の限界があることが近年指摘されている。
そのため、現実に近い（リアルワールド）排出実態を把握するための精度向上に関する課題を取り上げ、改善策を検討することにより、自動車排出ガスによる環境負荷の効果的な低減施策の立案に資する。

In the HCCI (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition) engine, fuel and air mixture are supplied to the cylinder and occurs auto-ignition resulting from compression. This method can expand the lean flammability limit, realize smoke less combustion and has also potential for realizing low NOx and high efficiency. The optimal ignition timing is demanded to keep high thermal efficiency. The Ignition in the HCCI engine largely depends on the chemical reaction between the fuel and the oxidizer. Physical methods in conventional engines cannot control it, so chemical method is demanded. Combustion duration is kept properly to avoid knocking. In addition, the amount of HC and CO emissions must be reduced. In this study, objectives are to clarify followings by the calculation with detailed chemical reactions and by the experiment with 2-stroke HCCI engine, the chemical reaction mechanism, and HC and CO emission mechanisms. Ignition and combustion mechanism and effect of pre-mixture heterogeneity on ignition and combustion are also clarified by measuring the luminescence at auto-ignition and combustion process by using an optically accessible engine.
