This paper presents a data distribution and a communication
scheme for the parallelization of the preconditioner
based on the incomplete LU factorization, for
solving a large sparse sets of equation Ax=b.
The parallel performance tests of the preconditioner,
using BiCGStab(ℓ) and GMRES(m) method,
are carried out on a distributed memory
parallel machine AP1000. The numerical results show
that the preconditioner based on the incomplete LU factorization can be used even for MIMD parallel machines.

For solving large and sparse nonsymmetric linear systems of
equations Ax=b, BiCGStab method is known as one of the product type　of iterative solvers. Recently, the BiCGStab2 and GP-BiCG have been proposed.　The BiCGStab($ell$) method, which was proposed by G. L. G. Sleijpen
and D. R. Fokkema, is generalized by these methods. In this paper, the authors compare the parallel performance
of the BiCGStab variants on a MIMD machine AP1000. Results obtained from the numericalexperiments show that the
BiCGStab(ℓ) is an effective iterative
solver and suitable for parallel computing.
