誘導結合プラズマ質量分析装置（ICP-MS）にレーザーアブレーション（LA）を用いたLA/ICP-MS法にて大気粉塵中微量金属元素を測定する技術を開発した。これは、試料フィルター（4.5mmφ）をすべて溶発・気化し、ICP-MSへ導入する方法である。測定対象金属は、Na,Al,K,Ca,Ti,V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn, As,Se,Ag,Cd,Sb,Ce,W,Pbの合計21元素である。

拡散スクラバーを用いた自動車排気ガス中のHCHOとCH3CHOの自動連続測定装置を開発した。これは、補集部に拡散スクラバーを用い、吸収液にDNPH(2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine)リン酸・アセトニトリル溶液を用いた方法であり、プログラマブルコントローラーにより制御され、自動的にHPLCに導入・分析される装置である。一時間間隔の自動連続測定が可能であり、検出限界はHCHO 0.05ppbv、CH3CHO 0.10ppbvであった。
