This paper proposes a new Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries ownership virtualization technique to control charge/discharge time to minimize busy period electric power supply from the grid. The proposed method uses a genetic algorithm to achieve highly stable network. The proposed method enables to expand the usage of EV battery. The computer simulation result shows that the proposed method can reduce electricity charges by average 11% per day compared to conventional scheme. The proposed EV storage virtualization technique can increase total energy efficiency and reduce energy cost when employing real-time pricing (RTP).

We propose a new EV battery demand/response control method, which consists of a new Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries ownership virtualization technique realized by “deposited power concept” and a huge virtual battery pool to enable charge /discharge at any time and a genetic algorithm to control demand/supply of EV batteries. Center controller named EVNO (Energy Virtual Network Operator) has a huge virtual battery pool which is aggregated by “deposited power” of each EV, and controls demand/supply of each EV by the genetic algorithm. Since EVNO controls the deposited power among their EV batteries, EV users lose ownership of the deposited electric power in their EV batteries. At this time, EV owner does not use the electric power in his EV physically. In this way, the electric power which is logically aggregated in virtual battery pool of EVNO is called “deposited power”. The computer simulation result shows that the proposed method can reduce electricity charges by average 11%, and can reduce power demand curve by average 13% per day compared to conventional scheme under real-time pricing (RTP).

Two newly-structured optical network architecture　alternatives are proposed for creating new network services. The　first target is an energy efficiency network; a data center-centric　optical aggregation network based on wavelength/time-slotmultiplexing. Not only application layer functions but also all　layer-3 or upper traffic are transferred through the optical　aggregation network and switched in the huge centralized router　at the data center. Power consumption of the network can be　reduced ten or twenty fold compared to the existing Internet. The　second is a service mash-up network that uses broadband optical　wire under the IoT generations. All service contents, hardware,　and software programs are defined as a service part. Optical wire　interconnects some service parts and creates new mash-up　services in the network. That creates deep network functionality　in combination with network and processing functions.

近年, Machine to Machine(M2M)通信が世界的に注目されている. M2Mとは, 人間の手を介さず, 家電など現実世界のあらゆる物がつながる世界のことである. M2Mアプリケーションの応用分野は, 交通, 電力, 流通, 医療, 物流, セキュリティ等多々に渡り, 将来的には人間の代理人(ソフトウェア・エージェント)としての機能を担うことが期待されている. 従来のM2Mは, 垂直統合型M2Mで実現されている. 垂直統合型M2Mは, サービス事業者自身が, サービスに特化したシステム構築を行うものであるが, 高コストとなり, 提供可能なM2Mサービスが制限されるという問題点が存在する. 本研究では, 水平統合型M2Mアーキテクチャおよび, 水平統合に必要な共通インタフェースについての検討を行った.

ネットワーク全体の消費電力削減のために, フォトニックネットワーク領域の拡大は急務であり, アグリゲーション網をメトロ/アクセス統合型のフォトニックネットワークに置換し, ネットワーク仮想化やネットワーク機能の仮想化を取り込み, 多様なサービスやネットワーク構成を実現し, サービス提供する容量を伸縮自在に利用する次世代メトロ/アクセス統合網であるエラスティックλアグリゲーションネットワーク(EAN)が提案されている. 本稿では, サービス統合とメトロ/アクセス統合に必要となるマルチレイヤ網制御プロトコルにOpenFlow1.0を適用し, MPLS-TPスイッチと光スイッチのマルチレイヤ制御実験を行った結果を報告する.

Smart grid has attracted attentions and expresses a view for the future power systems in the world. Demand Side Management(DSM) is a significant method in smart grid that helps the energy providers to shift behind the peak load. Some methods to reduce peak load have been studied in dynamic pricing. One of the purposes is to delay the demand to periods of low electricity price. The conventional scheduling method makes load curve that is inversely proportional to electricity prices as an objective load curve, and this strategy delay the expected demand curve as close as to the objective load curve. There is a problem, however, the scope of controlled object is limited and the whole load situation is not considered. This paper presents a method to smooth the demand situation of each house to reduce electricity prices by a Genetic Algorithm, in consideration of the amount of the whole demand and coordination between each group. The proposed method is able to give a higher value of objective to the group which has more shiftable demand, by adjusting the objective curve considering the delayable time. This feature makes the load as close as the object and reduces electricity price. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieve the reduction of the peak load and the utility bill in smart grid.

The Elastic Lambda Aggregation Network (EλAN) has been proposed. The EAN is combined optical access networks for service access and an aggregation network for service traffic aggregation to a service agnostic core network by optical elastic networking technologies and network virtualization technologies. In the EAN, MPLS-TP is one of the candidate transport protocols for realizing service unification. This paper provides an experimental report of the control of multi-layer which is composed of the MPLS-TP network and the optical switch network using the OpenFlow 1.0 protocol.

This article proposes a network control method that realizes on-demand service providing in Elastic Lambda Aggregation Network (EλAN). EλAN is a next-generation access/aggregation network that provides various network services having different protocols and QoS requirements. EλAN also achieves the reduction of total network power consumption by sharing access network equipment by multiple network services. In the proposed method, fixed optical trees are introduced to EλAN to exchange control messages in the same manner as today's FTTH systems. Discovery process and optical path/tree aggregation using the optical trees are explained in this article. We also discuss the energy-saving effect of the optical path/tree aggregation in EλAN.

Multicast, which provides an efficient way of disseminating data from a source to all the members in a multicast group, is usually used to solve one-to-many (1:N) communication problem such as transmissions of a multimedia content for many users. As the Internet becomes increasingly popular and the same content or service is distributed in many place, many-to-many (M:N) communication have emerged such as transmission among many sources and destinations. In this paper, we study the M:N communication optimal problem among many the same sources and different destinations, and propose an many-to-many multicast routing approach to address effectively this problem. In the proposal, multiple shared multicast trees are used among many source and destinations. By comparing with a single shared shortest path tree approach, the proof of correctness of the proposal is proved. And at last, the analysis of simulations is also provided.

The New Generation Network supports network virtualization technique that creates multi-slice network on one physical network. E3-DCN is newly proposed using optical packet switching network and optical path switching network. Optical packet network has high-network efficiency and flexibility. On the other hand, optical path network has huge band width. Combination of both packet and path technique can create energy efficient network. In addition, virtualization techniques apply to future photonic backbone and also smart energy network are also highlighted.
