本研究においては、快適な着座姿勢の確保に関係する重要なシート機構の明確化と、多様な使用条件下での同シート機構の最適化を行った。まず、AHPとファジィAHPを用いることでシートバック中折れ機構とシートスイング機構が重要であることを明らかにした。つぎに様々な着座姿勢の条件のもとでSN比を用いて最適化を行った．さいごに、導出した最適解を用いて官能評価実験を行い、その有効性を確認した。

本報では，「創発型制御システム」の一環として、燃料消費量とバッテリ劣化両者の低減を目的とした、多様な走行状況やユーザに適応可能なHEV 準最適制御の探索手法を提案した。また、同手法のシミュレーション実験を行った結果、ユーザに適応することで従来手法（on/off 制御，燃費のみ最適にする手法）と比較して、燃費・バッテリ劣化を低減できることを確認した。

本研究では、公共用シートで使用されるシートスウィング機構について、ユーザの体格や座り方などの多様場を考慮するとともに、生理学（血流）の観点に基づき、下肢の皮膚血流量への影響を明確にした。その結果、小伏在静脈、膝窩静脈への圧迫を軽減するデザインの必要性を示した。また、圧迫を受けやすい体格である身長が低いユーザ、肥満体型のユーザであり、それぞれのユーザを配慮したデザインの必要性を示した。
