本研究においては、車椅子車載システムの使用時に発生する振動の実態を把握した上で、同システムにおける設計課題の抽出を試みた。実車走行による振動実験の結果、車椅子固定装置は、系に入力する振動の加速度を増加させており、10Hz以下の車両フロア振動において人体各部位に共振現象を発生させていることが判明したことから、系への振動吸収体の設置を提案した。

本稿では、現在の最適デザインにおける要素還元的方法の限界およびデザイン解の画一化を解消すべく新たなデザイン方法を模索した。まず、要素が複雑に作用しあい、多様な種を生み出している生物界に目を向け、その有機組織の発生原理である創発という概念に着目した。次にこの創発過程とデザイン過程の類似性を確認し、デザインを創発的な過程ととらえることにより創発デザインの構造を決定した。さらに、創発デザインをＧＡや傾斜法など工学的方法により効率的に進める具体的な方法を考察した。
