ゼラチンゲルの気泡核生成すなわちキャビテーション初生を可視化するための実験手法を開発した。ゲル中の赤外線ナノ秒レーザー誘起衝撃波とガス気泡の干渉により生成される負圧を利用し、キャビテーション初生を発生させた。以上の音響現象を、緑色ナノ秒パルスレーザーをバックライトにCCDにより撮像した。レーザー露光のタイミングは、光ファイバーを用いて光路長を変化させることによりナノ秒オーダーで調整した。
