    本研究では、日本の中世期以降に常用された宋末の編集者祝穆制作の書物に注目し、日本および周辺地域に波及する過程を、版本研究の方法によって明らかにした。その結果、日本における祝穆編書の受容は、『方輿勝覧』と『事文類聚』を中心とし、中世には五山周辺における宋元版の使用に限られたことが判明した。その後『方輿勝覧』は、後続の同類書に交代し、その複製が低調となったのに対し、『事文類聚』は、朝鮮や日本で流行して、近世初に朝鮮本由来の古活字本が、江戸前期には複数の明版を校合した和刻本が派生、菊池耕齋の附訓を伴う版本や、抄出された版本が、近世の学者の需要に応じ、広く行われた。

    本研究では、中近世の日本文化に基盤的影響を及ぼした漢籍四種を取り上げ、日本における本文流通の主体となった五山版・古活字版を中心として、内外の諸伝本に調査を加え、その本文形成の様相を明らかにしてきた。前年度までには『増続会通韻府群玉』『氏族大全』について、その元明版・朝鮮版から日本漢籍の生ずる過程を究明した。続いて19年度には、まず『聯珠詩格』につき、現在は失われた元刊本を翻刻したと思われる五山版が、卓絶したその古本に当たるが、朝鮮朝で増注された朝鮮甲寅字刊本とその覆刻整版本が日本に流布し、江戸初刊整版本二種を産み出す一方、五山版は翻版を持たなかったことを明らかにした。さらに『翰墨全書』一について、その元明版が境域を超え、朝鮮と日本にも豊富に行われ、大規模にして複雑な編成と改編の激しさも原因となり、両朝にはかえって翻版を産まず、室町期には日明貿易により、また朝鮮への侵略を契機として、日本において興隆した本書への需要が満たされた様を推定した。当該書目四種の研究を通じ、日本伝来漢籍の諸本は、室町期までは中国から直に、また近世初以降には朝鮮経由の本文も平行して流れ込んだと仮設されるが、個々の書目における本文形成は、諸本の交叉干渉する独特の過程を持ち、時には原則に従わない固有の版本情況を示し、あくまで予断を許さないことが確かめられた。総じて、版本研究の対象を拡充し、引き続き総論にも修正を加えていくことが必要と認められた。
