This article aims to investigate solutions incorporated by a group called an Architecture Board in the global healthcare enterprises (GHE) for solving issues and mitigating related architecture risks while implementing “Adaptive Integrated EA framework,” which can be applied in companies promoting IT strategy using Cloud/Mobile IT. The distribution of solutions is to mitigate risks from different categories across the architecture domains in enterprise architecture (EA) is revealed, thereby covering applications, involving ERP, and technologies using the Cloud/Mobile IT/Digital IT. An in-depth analysis of this distribution can act as practical guidance for companies that consider starting up an Architecture Board, by utilizing digital platforms, while moving toward a digital transformation in an adaptive EA aligned with an IT strategy, encompassing digital IT-related elements.

An engineering model (EM) of 1 kW class X band high power pulsed amplifier (XPA) for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system that aims to install in a 100 kg class small satellite was developed. We performed verification tests and evaluated resistance against launch conditions and space environments of the XPA. In this paper, we describe a concept of the XPA and results of the verifications tests.

© 2018, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Inc, AIAA. All rights reserved. As the number of the satellite increase, there is an emergent need to operate satellites with less efforts. The University of Tokyo developed autonomous functions of on-board software for goal-oriented robust operations. They can cope with anomalies by themselves, without relying on ground operations. They have state transition model and can search for the commands continuously to achieve a goal given by the ground operators, even if the satellite status unexpectedly modified by the anomalies. We have implemented them in the 3U cubesat to demonstrate an ‘on-demand’ operation, an operation capturing a target image without ground operations during the first orbit cycle just after the launch. The satellite launched in February and we successfully demonstrated the autonomous functions on-orbit. We will continuously upgrade them for other cubesats and a small synthetic aperture radar satellite. Both of them will be launched during next year.

<p>Considering the relation between Enterprise Architecture (EA) and IT is a prerequisite when promoting the uptake of IT by societies. In this paper, the authors propose an "Adaptive Integrated EA framework," based on the results of a survey, to support the strategy of promoting cloud/mobile IT. They considered a unique advanced case and provide details and the structure/mechanism of building this EA framework in a global pharmaceutical company. Moreover, the authors revealed the effectiveness of the proposed EA framework by evaluating/analyzing the problems caused by the rapid shift to cloud/mobile IT in divisions in the US and Europe. Furthermore, they compared the characteristics of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and the "Adaptive Integrated EA framework" (global deployment) in building EA frameworks while evaluating the effectiveness of this framework to achieve digital transformation. Finally, the authors clarify the challenges, benefits, and critical success factors of the framework to assist EA practitioners with its implementation.</p>
