A new approach to component reuse in multi-software development project management by using an information-centric project model

<p>This paper evaluates the effects of component reuse by using a model that focuses on information transfer in software development projects. The cost models from earlier studies do not account for the difficulty of reuse, whereas the proposed information-centric model does consider the level of this difficulty. This paper has two main conclusions. First, component reuse does not always improve the productivity of a software development project. Second, component reuse is a valuable productivity tool if the following conditions are satisfied: (1) reuse results in simplification of project structures and (2) the level of difficulty of project elements is decreased from the reuse of components.</p>

<p>This chapter proposes application of framework of system design of a special zone for reconstruction of Fukushima Prefecture which suffered serious damages from the Great East Japan Earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. The framework of system design used in this chapter is called the Interactive Social Design Model (ISDM). The ISDM is useful for aggregating stakeholders' requirements and values through the process of the interactive and bottom-up communication with stakeholders, and derivation of the optimal policy in quantitative approach. In this chapter, the optimal policy designed by the ISDM for the purpose of reconstruction of Fuku-shima is compared with the existing system of the special zones for reconstruction, in which local governments which suffered from the earthquake can choose support measures from the catalogue of policy measures designed by the central government of Japan.</p>

<p>We have a strong demand to design computer control safety system because crew stats to stay the international space station continuously, but there is no design framework for spacecraft computer control safety system. In this paper, we propose the architecture framework for spacecraft computer control safety system to guide a safety systems engineer to design computer controlled safety system. This framework is based on the general safety design process and NASA's computer safety requirements. The architecture framework can be proposed in accordance with the coming new IEEE1471 standard. This architecture framework can cover all design processes which are mandatory to be conducted to design system safety architecture. From this result, we suppose that this architecture framework reaches at least mandatory level.</p>

<p>According to the definition of "System" in various standards and handbooks, a systemdoes not necessarily have hardware-software components. This means that a social system without hardware-software elements is a kind of system. However, systems engineering techniques are not directly applied to define a solution of a non-technical social system's problems. In this paper, we propose a standard approach to find out multiple view points todescribe architecture, because the view points are one of the most important aspects of architectural design activities. And also we show one example that we applied our proposedapproach to non-technical social system: insurance system. It proved to be positive in applying architectural design technique with appropriate view points to design social system architecture.</p>
