    空間的・社会的移動の機会や異文化との接触、そして情報が激増した近代以降、人びとはそれまで以上に多様な「憧れ」を持ち、その憧れは社会のさまざまな特徴を構築していった。とくに、伝統的ジェンダー観に挑戦する「新しい女性」像は、各地に伝播し憧れと反発を招きながら地域の近代化に影響を与えた。本研究では、こうした観点から「憧れ」という感情が繋ぐ「下からのグローバル史」研究を試み、リンダ・コリーの「伝染」概念を援用しつつ「憧れ」が織りなした近代の姿を探る。

    本研究の目的は、世界最大のイスラーム人口をかかえながらも多宗教国家であるインドネシアを対象として、宗教間対話の歴史的潮流と現在を、同国の政教関係に照らし合わせながら明らかにすることである。本研究では、権威主義体制期（1967年～1998年）と民主化後（1998年～）を対象とし、時代ごと、宗教ごとの政教関係の調査・分析を軸としつつ、フィールドワークと、ポップカルチャーにおける宗教表象分析を行う。

    本研究は、「保守化」しているとされる昨今のインドネシアのイスラーム社会の女性たちの装いに着目し、当事者へのインタビュー、テキスト分析、悉皆調査を用いて、女性たちのミクロな語りとその背後にある言説、また全体像を明らかにする。ムスリマのヴェール着用や服装のイスラーム化は、民主化後の当該社会の「イスラーム化」を象徴する一事例として注目され、申請者も研究を継続してきたテーマである。本研究はこれまでの研究成果を基に、ニカーブ着用（目以外の顔までも覆うスタイル）や、SNSが与える影響など、昨今顕在化した新テーマを明らかにしながら、「保守化」時代の当該社会のムスリマの装いの全体像を捉えることを目指す。

    This project aimed to comparatively analyze the ways in which the‘new women’ phenomena-- one that originated in the Anglo-American context in late nineteenth century-- affected Asia in the early twentieth century, shaping the images of independent and modernized ‘new women’. To do this the study took up Japan, China, Korea, Indonesia, Egypt and Turkey, in particular. In conducting the comparative analyses, the focus was on the emotion of ‘akogare’, or ‘a sense of longing, an experience or dreaming or the desire to be charmed and to be charming’*. In the course of the three years the project was funded, we gave a series of lectures on ‘New Women and Asia’ at the graduate school of Tokyo University as well as organizing a series of symposia inviting three lecturers from overseas. We have also been working on a joint book based on the findings of this project.

    本研究は、インドネシアの大学における学生たちのダアワ運動に着目し、現地調査による当事者へのインタビューや参与観察を通じて、その発展と現状、活動の内容を検証するものである。当該年度は、特別研究員の2年目、また博士課程の3年目の年に当たる。交付申請書に記載した「研究実施計画」の項目に沿って、研究の成果と進捗状況をまとめたい。
    ○現地調査
    7月と11月に、インドネシアでの現地調査を計約6週間実施した。前年度に行った4回の調査を補完する形で、テーマを絞り込んだ調査を実施した。実施場所は、主に、ジャカルタ、バンドゥンの各大学、イスラームの諸組織、資料収集のための図書館など。
    ○インフォーマル、フォーマル発表
    博士号取得要件に含まれるインフォーマル発表を、11月に実施。無事に終了した。次のステップとなるフォーマル発表は、今年5月に実施予定。
    ○査読論文
    査読論文を執筆し、2009年3月発行『Keio SFC Journal』に掲載された。現在、別のテーマにて、もう一本の査読論文を執筆中であり、今年度の早い段階で、投稿予定。
    ○調査のまとめ、博士論文の構成
    過去6回の現地調査のデータは、テーマごとにまとめ、博士論文執筆に使用できる状態に整理を進めている。博士論文の構想、大まかな章立てを作成済み。今後は、徐々に執筆を進める予定。
    ○「実施計画」には記載ないが、2月に南山大学で実施された「インドネシア・イスラームのダイナミズム」と題するセミナーにて報告。インドネシアのイスラームを専門とする研究者10人のうちの一人として、「大学におけるダアワ運動の成立と展開-サルマン・モスクの事例を中心に」をテーマに発表した。
