    （ねらい）この講義では、人間の探求専攻の人類学・比較文化領域の学生、あるいは人類学を収める予定の学生だけを想定せず、全専攻・全領域の学生を対象とする基礎科目とします。世界各地を視野に人類学で蓄積されてきた多くの知見・データ・理論が私たちの日常生活に関与することを国内外の具体的な事例をとおして見る授業です。古典的な理論と最先端の学説を交えながら、人類の歴史からはじまり、さまざまな人間の行為をキーワードに、ほかの学問領域との接続を意識して、巾の広い知識と解釈を提供します。
    　人間は「ことば“を”学び、「ことば」“で”学びます。人間は「ことば」を生み、「ことば」は人間をつくります。第4回は、こうした人間と「ことば」の多元的な関わりを、文化の普遍性と多様性の視点から考えていきます。言語習得から人間の認知世界の形成までの過程を文化の側面から考え、言語の多様性をめぐる最新の議論にふれます。
