<p>The purpose of this study is to explore why and how product and service cost information is useful in start-up companies. We observed what kind of changes occurred providing the information to the managers of Company A, which had not used the information for management decision making. As a result, the managers recognized the problems in their management decision-making and the usefulness of the information. These results indicate that even in companies that do not recognize the usefulness of cost information, providing cost information may improve management decision-making.</p>

理論と実践を架橋する臨床会計学的アプローチから、業績管理システムなど会計情報を中心としたマネジメントコントロールシステム（MCS)の設計・運用が組織能力や財務業績に及ぼす効果について、ケーススタディ・アクションリサーチ・サーベイ調査を体系的に組み合わせて明らかにする。定性的研究で得た知見の一般性を定量的研究で検証することを基本としつつ、これら研究方法を並行して利用し、ひとつの研究方法で見いだされた知見を他の研究方法によって深堀り・検証を図る。本研究ではMCSの導入・運用を支援する専門家集団の協力を得て研究計画を遂行することで、実務と研究との相互交流を深め実践性の高い臨床会計学的知見を獲得する。

　View Summary

どのような危機に遭遇したとしても、企業は存続を図らなければならない。近年、経営学分野において、危機的状況への適応をとらえる考え方の一つとしてレジリエンスが注目されている。しかし、経営学分野の組織レジリエンスでは、急激な財務ショックやこれに対応する過程に対して十分な検討がなされていない。そこで本研究では、財務レジリエンスおよびマネジメント・コントロールに着目した上で、「危機的状況において財務レジリエンスを高めるために、企業はどのようなマネジメント・コントロールを通じてどのように予測能力や対応能力を形成しているのか」について明らかにするための分析検討考察を行うものである。
2022年度は，本研究の理論的枠組みを精緻化するために，先行文献の網羅的なレビューをプロジェクトメンバー全員で行い，議論を重ねた。文献レビューの対象は次のとおりである。
第1に，企業あるいは組織のレジリエンスとその類似概念である吸収能力やダイナミック・ケイパビリティに関する先行研究，第2に，マネジメント・コントロールに関する先行研究である。これについては，これまでに引き続き，あらたに危機的状況下での議論に焦点を置いたレビューを行った。第3に，リーマンショックや東日本大震災のような危機的状況への対応に成功したと考えれる企業に関する雑誌記事についてもレビューを試みた。
これらから2023年度以降に実施する事例研究や実態調査のための，研究課題あるいはフレームワークなどをメンバー全員によって議論し，検討を重ねた。
2022年度においても，国内外の移動はたやすくはなかったが，研究者各自の工夫によっておおむね順調に研究を遂行した。
2022年度の文献研究を受けて，2023年度からは実態を把握するための調査を開始する。具体的にはインタビューを先んじておこないながら，定量的な調査の準備を行う。

　View Summary

本研究は女性後継者の承継プロセスに焦点をあて「後継者である娘と、後継させる親」「後継者である息子と後継させる親」という二つの視座から比較研究することで具体的な施策を導く。第一に男性後継者と女性後継者の承継プロセス上の経験や行動、先代との関係に違いがあるのか。第二に女性後継者は後継者としての正当性をどのように社内外において示し、信頼を獲得するのか。男子後継者との違いは何か。第三にファミリービジネスの社長はどのように後継者を教育し、複数候補者がいる場合はどの時点で選抜し、どのようにバトンタッチをするのか。これらを明らかにすることによって実行可能性の高い知見を示す。
本研究の目的は二つある。第一に男性後継者と女性後継者の承継プロセス上の経験や行動、先代との関係に違いがあるのか。何が女性後継者の就任の障害となっていてどうすればそれを取り除けるか。第二に女性後継者は後継者としての正当性をどのように社内外において示し、信頼を獲得するのか、そして男子後継者との違いは何か。この二つを明らかにすることにある。本年度は、男性後継者と女性後継者の承継プロセス上の違いを明らかにするために、男性後継者を中心にインタビュー調査を行った。ただし、旅行業のインタビューを企画したが、コロナ禍より回復して急需要が発生し、本年度中はスケジュールが合わず叶わなかった。又、男性の後継者（これは多くのファミリービジネス研究の主流の対象者となっている）についての文献研究も読み進めた。
以上に加えて新しい調査対象業界として医療・介護業界についての知見をひろめた。その際に、派生として看護師向けのキャリア（介護事業所や医療施設の承継をふくむ）についての知見をえることができ、それについて一般書を執筆し、医学書院から出版することができた。これは、今後、研究の一つのテーマとして、医療・介護業界におけるファミリービジネスとしての女性後継者を新たに加える端緒となった。
男性後継者のインタビュー調査は産業により、コロナ禍からの急回復のために、インタビューの時間がこちらと合わず取りこぼしている。しかしながら、その分ファミリー・ビジネスについての文献研究ならびに、新たな対象としての医療福祉業界についての知見をえることができ有意義な一年であった。
本年度は今までに得たデータや調査結果を基に研究の報告と成果のまとめを行う。学術誌投稿、一般ビジネス誌投稿、国内外の学会発表など社会に向けて発信する。特に、本研究は具体性に富み、実現可能性が高い内容となるために、東洋経済、一橋ビジネスレビューなどビジネスパーソンの目に触れることが多い媒体への投稿を積極的に行う。

Recently, firms have struggled to reform their governance structures. However, little is known about how firms’ governance structures affect their management control systems.
To examine this gap, we focused on the relationship between firms'governance structures and their management control systems. Specifically, (1) comprehensive literature review, (2) questionnaire survey targeted Japanese firms, and (3) future research avenue with regard to management control systems were presented. The results of this research project contribute not only to academic, but also to industrial fields.
Managing the Father-Daughter Succession Process in Japanese Family Business

　View Summary

The daughter successors of family business have not been common in Japanese Business. The research focused the succession process of daughter-father relationship. Based on 27 in depth interviews with daughter successors this study this study identifies three themes that contribute to a high quality predecessor, successor relationship in father, daughter successions and its structuring two dimensions. Japanese culture strongly supports primogeniture. Hence the daughters used to be treated as a second choice. I examine contextual factors that influence the selection and self-selection of successors in family businesses. Japanese gender norms, which are automatically activated, blind daughters to possibilities of succession. We found the two-step model of daughter father succession model in Japan. The first step stats when she joins her family business. The second step starts as soon as her father declares her inheritance.
