B. subtilis由来の組み換えエポキシドヒドロラーゼを用いたラセミ体エポキシドの加水分解を鍵反応に、抗男性ホルモン剤であるビカルタミドの活性本体を効率よく合成する方法を開発した。ラセミ体を効率よく単一の異性体に収束、その際、酵素工学的手法による反応停止時期のシミュレーションにも成功した。
