自然災害は日本という国土に様々な形で困難を突きつけてきます。これらの困難を克服することに様々な技術革新が貢献していますが、予防保全的な役割を担うには多くの解決すべき問題が残っています。新たなフィールドでのイノベーションを活性化させるためには新たなビジネス環境の設計・整備が重要です。そこで、将来のさまざまな災害に的確に対峙できる分野横断型の統合システムを構築すると共に、市民生活におけるハード／ソフト両面の損傷を最小化する技術のプロデュースを促進させる社会デザインの提案を検討する枠組みとして、適応ファイナンスコンソーシアムを立ち上げました。この考え方を社会実装させていくためには、レピュテーションなど金銭ではない価値を基軸にした新たなビジネスモデルを構築し、防災のみならず社会インフラの維持管理、農業を含むグリーンインフラの整備など多様な社会課題に対応できるようにしていくことが必要です。

現在の子供たちが2030年以降に「日本に生まれてよかった」と率直に感じられるようにすることは日本という地域で様々な恩恵を得てきた世代の人間の大きな役割と考えます。“未来”という言葉を夢と希望をもって語れる社会にしていくことに貢献していく新たな取り組みについて、その課題の本質とともに解決の方向性についてご紹介致します。
