ダイバータプラズマの非対称性の原因となる熱電不安定性について、論文（47)で開発した５点モデルを用いて解析した。その結果、対称平衡が存在するためのしきい温度が存在することを初めて明らかにした。また、対称な平衡が不安定になると、境界層プラズマを流れる電流（SOL電流）が増大し、ある値以上になると安定で非対称な平衡があらわれることを示した。

の文献(45)におけるカスプロス幅の評価の詳細化とそれに基づくシミュレーション。新しい点は、カスプロス幅の評価に必要な衝突周波数について、カマボコ型負イオン源では、イオン-電子衝突が比較的大きいことを示した点と、シミュレーションにおいて、カスプロス幅の評価式にあらわれる磁場の値をパラメータとした点。実験結果を再現する磁場の値は、実験と良い一致をみた。

散逸捕捉イオン不安定性に起因する異常拡散係数を，先の単一飽和の考え方に基づき求めた。閉じ込め磁場にシャーがある場合には，新古典理論による拡散係数の値よりも大きな値となり, シャーがない場合には，新古典理論による値と同程度の値になることを示した。

先に導出したモデル方程式を数値計算により時間の関数として解き, 散逸捕捉イオン不安定性の飽和メカニズムを明らかにした。最終的には単一モードが残ること，捕捉イオン密度勾配の平坦化によって飽和することが明らかにされた。

散逸捕捉イオンに対する流体方程式を出発点として，多時間摂動展開の方法を適用し，不安定波の時間発展を記述するモデル方程式系を導出した。得られたモデル方程式系は，不安定波各スペクトル成分間の非線相互作用及び捕捉イオン密度勾配平坦化の時間発展を陽に記述できる。

核融合炉心プラズマの閉じ込めにとって，プラズマ中で発生する種々の不安定な電磁波動によるプラズマの異常輸送現象及びその安定化は重要な研究課題である。このような不安定性の１つである散逸捕捉イオン不安定性について，準線形理論により０次の密度変動を扱い不安定性の安定化及び波の飽和レベルを求めた。
