1968年大阪府生まれ 神戸大学大学院博士後期課程終了後，近畿大学講師などを経て，現職。この間，カリフォルニア大学バークレー校などで2年間，客員研究員として研究をおこなう。代表作『持続的競争優位をもたらす原価企画能力』中央経済社（日本会計研究学会太田・黒澤賞，日本原価計算研究学会賞）など受賞歴，著書・論文多数。製造業のみならず非製造業，地方公共団体，病院などを対象に，管理会計，組織変革，コストマネジメントの経営アドバイザーとしても活動。H29・30公認会計士試験試験委員。
