　経済発展とはいかなる現象なのか、また、経済発展を促進するために私たちは何をすべきなのかという「課題」を、「経済理論」と「経済統計」をバランスよく組み合わせて探求していくことを基本としています。地域的には環太平洋諸国、特にアジア諸国の経済発展を取り上げ、経済発展の過程で生じる産業構造の変化、貿易構造の変化を中心に計量的な分析を行っています。
